From London and the East: Using the Motorway take the M4 to Bristol and then the M5 to Exeter, then the A30 dual carriageway to Okehampton. Turn off to Okehampton and go right into the town. At the third set of lights (ignoring pedestrian lights) turn right onto the A386 to Folly Gate and Hatherleigh. At the next "T" junction (about 2 miles) turn right and go through the village of Folly Gate and stay on this road until you arrive at the Hatherleigh roundabout. Take third exit into the town and follow the road round to the left, opposite the Bridge Inn turn right onto South Street and go past Pound Meadow. Thomas Roberts House is beside the next crossroads, turn right onto Higher Street and the house is on your right with green iron railings on top of the wall.

The alternative route from London is via the M3 and then the A303 to Exeter and then follow the above directions.

From the South: Take the A386 through Tavistock to Sourton and stay on this road to Folly Gate and then follow the above directions.

From the West: Take the A30 dual carriageway to the Hatherleigh/ Tavistock exit, turn left onto the A386 to Folly Gate and then follow the above directions.

By Train to Exeter St.Davids and then transfer by car about 40 minutes drive.

By Bus to Okehampton & Hatherleigh

By Air to Exeter Airport, (about 1 hour transfer); Bristol Airport, (about 2 hours transfer); Plymouth Airport, (about 1 hour transfer) or Newquay Airport, (about 1 hour transfer).
